HANAN ALON | CHRONIC PAIN TREATMENTS

יוגה וטיפולים Yoga therapy

Why should you work with me? - My approach to therapy

my work approach is holistic and with close connection between the body and the mind.

I have seen that and experienced it both in my own personal medical conditions and in those of my patients. The treatment I offer combines many tools from the field of massage professions, body-psychotherapy, yoga and more.

my work is with direct reference to the mental, emotional and behavioral factors that previously created the problem or pain.

I believe in the body's self-healing ability and in our ability to influence our physical condition, through healthy inner self-management and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

My ambition is to help people discover the power of healing that lies with in them using practical and applicable tools.

My work approach is based on:

Dr. Wilhelm Reich (one of the students and a colleague of Sigmund Freud - the father of psychoanalysis) and the father of the "body-psychotherapy" method. "Psycho" (mind) and "therapy" (treatment).

Body psychotherapy is a holistic treatment that combines the body with the mind Reich, a psychiatrist by profession, understood that beyond the treatment of conversations, there must be a reference to the body and soul of the person.  "Repressed emotions form into muscle tension and create body armor" is the opinion  of the traumas of life like the repressed memories and emotions, trapped in the body, muscles in tissues and joints.

Variety massage techniques from different methods such as: Swedish massage, Deep tissue, Thai massage and Shiatsu that are integrated within my work in direct reference to the problem or pain the body holds and the ability to allow the body to soften and release tension during dialogue with the patient.

Yoga - a method that integrates within the toolbox and the therapeutic process and allows movement, postures, breathing techniques, strengthening, flexibility and relaxation in order to alleviate the pain or difficulty and the possibility of practicing it on a daily basis as a supportive practice of creating change.

Louise Hay - A well-known American lecturer, therapist and author in the field

of spirituality who has helped herself and many people discover their personal potential and help them recover from illness. She understood the symbiotic connection between body and mind and that all our diseases are inextricably linked to our mental state. Through mental therapy, positive thinking, faith and optimism, she believed, everything in our lives can be changed, even terminal illnesses.

Ester / Abraham Hicks - American inspirational lecturer and author who talks a lot about the laws of the universe, our ability to connect with who we really are and our ability to be happy by changing limiting thoughts and beliefs.

The Work is according to the law of attraction in the universe "similar attracts similar", it is a universal law that says that every thought of ours creates a vibration, a signal, and when we focus on the thought that creates its vibrational emotion is strengthened and so we can "magnetize" everything we want such as happiness, success, relationships , Abundance and more. And of course overcoming obstacles that keep us from achieving it.

Who is the treatment for?

For anyone who is open to the perception and connection between body, mind and symptoms.
For anyone who suffers from back / neck pain or painfull shoulders.
Disc herniations or migraines that have accompanied you for years.
If you are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and mood disorders.
If you suffer from psychosomatic illnesses such as Crohn's, colitis, asthma, psoriasis, fibromyalgia or any other physical discomfort.

How soon can you can feel improvement?

The process ends when the pain we experience is gone and no longer comes back.
after the first treatment you will be able to feel some relief in pain and see if you feel conneced to it.
Usually up to 10 treatments is the minimum time required to achieve a more substantial change that will last in the long run, assuming there are regular meetings and cooperation and honesty between the sessions to assimilate the necessary change in daily habits.

What should you know before treatment?

First thing to remember is that the treatment is a process that takes time.
Second, it is very important that you get the treatment because you decided that you wanted to and that you dont do it for another person.
It is important to check that there is chemistry between us, because this is a very significant criterion for the success of the treatment.

What is Pain?

Pain is an unpleasant sensation and emotional experience linked to tissue damage. Its purpose is to allow the body to react and prevent further tissue damage.

We feel pain when a signal is sent through nerve fibers to the brain for interpretation.

The experience of pain is different for everyone, and there are different ways of feeling and describing pain.

Pain can be short-term or long-term, it can stay in one place, or it can spread around the body.

What is a chronic pain?

Chronic pain is a Pain that persists or progresses over a long period of time (for weeks or months) and causes a significant decrease in quality of life, due to improper behavior in a person's life complex on the physical, mental, emotional, relationships and more.

Western Medicine may not always find the solution to the problem and sometimes it can only be temporarily alleviated it by painkillers (which can damage the liver and obscure the problem and Its solution) or to suggest surgeries and other invasive options.

As human beings in high speed western society, we are usually seek for fast results that can make the problem much more repressed and dont take the responsibility and time to pause and make the proper changes in our habits that was causing the problem or pain in the first place. The right way is to have the patience to learn what the pain and our body is trying to tell us? Pain is not an enemy but a friend and teacher!

We shoud'nt perceive pain as something unwanted that need to get rid from our life as quickly as we can and fight it with medications, but to see it as motive for growth and change.

What is a Psycosomatic pain?

The term Psychosomatic refers to real physical symptoms that arise from the mind and are influenced by emotions rather than a specific organic cause in the body (such as an injury or infection).

A psychosomatic illness originates from emotional stress and manifests in the body as physical pain and other symptoms (For example pain in the chest, back, abdomen, head and more). Depression can contribute to psychosomatic illness, especially when the body’s immune system has been weakened by severe and/or chronic stress.

A common misconception is that psychosomatic conditions are imaginary or "all in the head.” In reality, physical symptoms of psychosomatic conditions are real and need treatment just as any other illness would.

Unfortunately, that does not always happen in a timely or effective manner. The pervasive social stigma attached to psychosomatic illness may prevent someone from seeking for the right treatment.

In order to help you resolve your pain or problem, I would love to invite you to an introductory meeting to diagnose, discuss and addressing the problem in an Holistic approach treatments, that combines various therapeutic methods such as:

Shiatsu, Swedish Massage, Deep tissue Massage, Thai massage, Body-Psychotherapy and Yoga that will guide you how to treat your body and mind in a right way. It is a process that is individual and different for each person, in order to ease and eliminate:

Physical pain such as:

Head, Back, Chest, Neck, Abdomen, Joints and more.

Mental pain such as:

Stress, Depression, Anxiety and more, in order to find the source of the problem and improve the quality of your life.

Together, we will learn to recognize the same emotions and pains that our body holds, we will learn to observe the body’s feelings with acceptance and consent, as well as we will learn to change the limiting thoughts and beliefs that create the pain and suffering.

The goal of the treatment will be to find the root of the problem and release the pain once and for all!
Together we will understand what those pains or feelings are asking of us in this moment? Moving, crying, talking to someone, shouting, running, dancing, hitting a punching bag, drawing, writing, creating something or just breathing deeply into them, giving them recognition and being in the moment?

what about insurance companies that cover complementary medicine treatments?

Definitely possible and worthwhile! If you have private health insurance, with coverage for complementary medicine treatments (such as: Shiatsu / Swedish massage / deep tissue / Thai massage).
For those who have private health insurance but still do not have coverage for complementary medicine treatments, I recommend asking the insurance agent to add this clause to your policy. This is a minimal cost.

You should also find out the amount of the refund from the insurance company. The different policies differ from each other in the amount of the refund.
For patients with new insurance, the reimbursement usually reaches 50%, patients who have an old policy receive even up to 80% of the cost of the treatment, which is definitely worthwhile.
If you have any questions I would be happy to assist and guide you.
Reimbursements for complementary medicine treatments can be obtained through the various insurance companies, for example: Menorah, Clal, Migdal and more.
